This is one of those houses we'd all like to have in our family. A ground floor and first floor villa, typical architecture of the 50's, with large windows framed by stone frames, iron rods and stone stairs. Not forgetting a pleasant outdoor space, with adult trees and many flowers.
Located just seven kilometres from the historic and touristic city of Tomar, this villa is inserted right in the center of the village and, however, has a lot of privacy.
On the ground floor, which we access by a glazed marquee, we find just outside a little room with a floor fireplace and a service bathroom. A large common room (living and dining), an excellent bedroom and a kitchen with a large old fireplace, well maintained, and a stove make up the remaining area. The entire ground floor floor is mosaic and the wooden ceiling, with an extraordinary ceiling. Still on the ground floor there is a storage room.
It is through the kitchen that you can access the first floor of this family home, where there is another beautiful old fireplace with wooden details. On this floor are four more good bedrooms and a living room with access to the small wrought iron balcony. Here the whole floor is from the time of construction, with wide wooden planks running. Also original are the doors, surmounted by glass (the so-called flags) and the contraported windows, in solid wood.
The whole house is in good condition, needing only a few "touches of make-up". The roof is new, it was laid a year ago.
A well-treated land, all walled, with already adult fruit trees, vines and many flowers frames this property. With an independent access gate, the outdoor space also has a large shed that can transform into a leisure area and a well with abundant water. Tell me, do you need more to be happy?
Porto da Lage is a village located seven kilometers south of the municipality of Tomar, which was growing along the railway line. Even today it has a beautiful station that serves the Northern line (Lisbon / Porto). Despite having lost many inhabitants over the years, the village has been recovering from this desertification, with new residents, younger and more dynamic.
It is today a village well served with equipment, has mini-market (with daily fresh bread and coffee), health center, medicine reception station, bakery, fuel pumps (with coffee) car workshop.
The older residents live with the new inhabitants, who receive with open arms.
